2024 HCCPTA Food Security Grant
Hillsborough County Council PTA is pleased to announce our 2024 Food Security Grant. These grants are made possible by Papa Johns. All local PTA or PTSA units in Hillsborough County that are in compliance are eligible to apply for a $500 grant that will help them address food insecurity in their school and community.
There are only a few grants available so do not delay, apply today!
ELIGIBILITY:
- PTA or PTSA located in Hillsborough County
- PTA or PTSA is 100% in compliance
- Cannot be used to fund an existing program
REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete the Google Form by midnight, January 15, 2024
- All questions must be answered in order to be eligible
- Grantees will be notified via email on Friday, January 19, 2024
- Grantees must sign and submit a Grant Awards Agreement Letter by January 26, 2024
- Grantees must attend two (2) online sessions - March 1, 2024 & May 1, 2024
- Grant funds must be spent no later than May 1, 2024
- Grant Final Reports must be submitted no later than May 15, 2024
- Grantees must include photos in the final report

The purpose of the grant is to challenge each grantee to address food insecurity in their school or community. You are encouraged to create a program that works for the unique needs of your school. Here are some examples to help get you started:
- weekend food bag program
- partner with a food bank to help stock shelves
- coordinate with local grocery stores or farm stands to send home fresh produce
- create little pantries at your school
- create a community garden of produce
These are only suggestions, you are NOT obligated to do any of the above - your goal is to create something that works for YOUR school and community.
